AUTHORS STYLE: EFFECTIVE OR INEFfECTIVE?
Mitch Albom has a very unique style of writing. Albom opens the story by showing you a situation, but not explaining it. Later in the story, you understand what occurred earlier in the novel. I feel that for fiction, this approach is effective because you are confused a little and want to understand more about the story, so people want to read on. However, this style of writing will not be effective for expository writing because you would want to hook the reader, but be factual, not hide information from readers to explain at a later time. Overall, I feel that the effectiveness of Albom's style of writing depends on the type of book or essay he writes.
